Figuring out Danielle’s Talent

Chapter 1: The Big Celebration.

One early morning after breakfast Danielle and her best friends Prilla and Rani were on their way to Heavendish Stream. Prilla and Danielle were the only two Mainland-visiting clapping-talent fairies in Pixie Hollow. And Danielle was the only Love-Life-Laughter and Heart-Talent. On the brass directory where it talked about Danielle it showed that as her talent, even though Danielle had 6 other talents that was the one that showed as her main talent, and Danielle was very proud of it. There was really only one problem with Danielle’s talent though. She had no idea what she used it for! She thought maybe it was for stopping fights or perhaps bringing happiness to fairies that are sad? Danielle didn’t know what her talent was used for yet but she was happy being with Prilla and Rani. “Are we going to play fairy tag when we get to Heavendish Stream?” asked Danielle. “Sounds good to…” “Me” Rani finished for Prilla. They all laughed. Danielle loved it when Rani finished for everyone, it made her laugh. Danielle was so happy to have Prilla and Rani as friends. Prilla was happy to have Danielle as a friend too. They often blinked over to the Mainland together and had wonderful fun playing with clumsy children there. Tonight was going to be wonderful! You see, tonight was going to be Danielle’s first celebration! Prilla, Danielle and Rani were all going to the celebration together. And they were all going to wear the fanciest things they had! Danielle had plans to wear her sea blue dress with the pearls. Prilla was going to wear her violet wrap dress with the lavender sash. And Rani wanted to wear her sky blue knee length dress with silver sparkles on it. The baking-talents had been preparing for the celebration all day! And everyone was getting ready. The light-talents were making sure the light show would go wonderfully. The water-talents had been making a grand water fountain. The garden-talents were sprouting the prettiest night bells. The music-talents had been practicing new songs. The art-talents were painting a grand new mural. And all of Fairy Heaven was a- buzz. Since Danielle had so many talents it was very difficult for her to keep up. She was flying all over Pixie Hollow helping her fellow talents. Which wasn’t very easily done. Prilla was a little lonely even though she was an honorary talent member of every talent, she still liked being with Danielle. But she couldn’t since Danielle was flying everywhere at once, and of course Prilla had no where near all the talents Danielle had. Danielle wished she could be with Prilla so they could blink over to the Mainland together. But with all Danielle’s talents she was needed to help out with the celebration. Sometimes Danielle wished she could give back some of her talents so she didn’t have so many. At 7:00 P.M. Danielle was finally free to do as she pleased, so she went off looking for Prilla. “Prilla?” Danielle called. Prilla’s face brightened when she heard Danielle calling for her. “Over here!” Prilla called back. Danielle flew over to Prilla and gave her a hug. “Gosh what a day! I thought I would never get free!” said Danielle with a relieved sigh. Prilla frowned a little bit but was still happy to see Danielle. “Want to blink over to the Mainland before we have to get ready?” asked Prilla. “Of course!” Danielle answered happily. Prilla and Danielle found a nice spot to sit and quick as a wisp were on the Mainland together. Soon after, Rani came along looking for them. She could tell they were on the Mainland but it was time to get ready for the celebration. “Prilla, Danielle, come back, we have to get ready.” said Rani. Danielle and Prilla couldn’t hear Rani, they were having far too much fun with the clumsy children. “DANIELLE, PRILLA!” yelled Rani. Danielle and Prilla heard her that time and jumped when they got snapped back to Pixie Hollow. “Rani….” “What’s going on? Its time to get ready for the celebration.” Rani said as she finished for Danielle. Danielle and Prilla looked at each other feeling silly about forgetting about the celebration while on the Mainland. They all headed back to the Home Tree to change and a little while later met up in the lobby, ready to go. The celebration went wonderfully! Danielle, Prilla and Rani all had a wonderful time, but were very tired so they all said good night to each other and went to their rooms and quickly fell asleep.

Chapter 2: The Bird That Was Afraid Of Heights.

The next morning, Danielle was up earlier then normal so she thought she would go for an early morning fly before she met Prilla and Rani for breakfast. Danielle was having the best time! But as she flu past a tree, she saw a nest. She flu over to see if there were any baby birds inside, as an animal-talent Danielle love’s animals! As Danielle got closer to the nest, she saw a golden-brown looking thing inside. And then she realized what it was. “It’s a hawk!” Danielle thought with wide eyes. She was about to turn and fly away as fast as she could, but right before she did she heard the little hawk crying. “No Danielle turn around and fly fast! Do not go over there!” Danielle thought trying hard not to go over to the crying bird. “Oooh!” said Danielle as she flu over to the little hawk. “Okay, please don’t eat me little hawk!” Danielle said in animal to the little hawk as she approached. Danielle was making sure to keep an eye out for the mother hawk. “What’s wrong little hawk? Where’s your mother?” asked Danielle again in animal. “I don’t have a mother anymore!” answered the hawk crying. Danielle was shocked that the hawk answered her, but even more shocked to the answer the hawk gave her. “W-what happened?” asked Danielle feeling bad for the hawk, even though hawks ate fairies like her. “She tried to teach me to fly bu-bu-but, I couldn’t learn! She said I wasn’t a real hawk at all! And so, so she left me!” said the hawk crying even harder now. Danielle had no idea hawk mothers were so horrible! “Goodness me! Well, why couldn’t you learn how to fly?” asked Danielle still watching out just in case. “I-I’m scared of heights…” answered the hawk feeling embarrassed. Danielle was shocked again, she had never heard of any kind of bird being afraid of heights! “Your afraid of heights? I’ve never heard of a bird being afraid of heights before, but its okay! Your rare like me!” said Danielle. “Rare? Birds aren’t supposed to be rare! They’re supposed to know how to fly right away! Not be scared of heights! I’m nothing special!” said the hawk sounding annoyed at Danielle. Danielle started feeling a little nervous but went on. “Believe me, I know special! I have 7 talents! And it’s not easy keeping up with all of them. Mother Dove says I’m a very rare talent. So I think I can tell how to point out other rare things to.” said Danielle not realizing something important. “Well, that is a lot of things, but you’re a fairy, your supposed to be special! I’m just a hawk, well maybe not according to my mother. I can’t even fly!” said the hawk getting a bit angry but still crying. Danielle thought for a few seconds and then realized. “Oh silly me! I’ll teach you how to fly, I’m an animal-talent, which is how I can talk to you, and one of the things my animal-talent does, is teach baby birds to fly!” said Danielle feeling proud of her animal-talent. “Forget it! My own mother couldn’t even teach me how to fly! And I’m still afraid of heights!” said the hawk more mad then sad now. Danielle was getting a little scared by the hawk now, but at least she could fly away if she needed to. “W-well, there’s no harm in trying. Let me at least try and teach you how to fly.” said Danielle. “Fine!” said the hawk. “Alright, but there’s just one thing you have to promise me?” said Danielle ready to fly if she had to. “What?” answered the hawk. “You have to promise, that if I can teach you to fly, you can’t eat me, or any other fairy ever! Is it a deal?” asked Danielle. “Okay, but if you can’t, I get to eat you.” said the hawk. Danielle swallowed hard, what if she couldn’t teach the hawk to fly? Then the hawk would eat her! Danielle didn’t want to be eaten, but knew she had talent for this. “D-deal.” agreed Danielle. Danielle then realized she had forgotten about breakfast. “I have to go! I’ll be back soon, I promise.” Danielle gave her word to the hawk. Danielle flu back to the Home Tree as fast as she could and just barely made it in time. “Danielle! There you are! Where have you been!?” asked Prilla. “Oh I just went for an early morning fly before breakfast.” Danielle said still a bit out of breath from flying so fast to get back. “Oh alright. Come on Rani is waiting for us at the water-talent table.” Prilla said with a smile. “Okay.” answered Danielle.

Chapter 3: In Way Over Danielle’s Head.

After a few days of trying to teach the hawk to fly, Danielle was getting nowhere! Danielle was starting to loose hope that she was ever going to get this little hawk to fly and if she couldn’t, she was going to be lunch! “Lunch! Oh I have to get home for lunch! I’ll be back after.” Danielle told the hawk. “Danielle, is everything okay? You’ve been vanishing for the past few days.”said Prilla. “Oh, I’ve just been busy lately.” said Danielle. Danielle hated lying to Prilla, but Danielle had been busy lately trying to teach the hawk to fly, so it wasn’t really lying, was it? “Oh, alright then. Come on lets go sit with Rani.” said Prilla. “Oh right, okay, but I need to talk to Beck first, just for a few minutes then I’ll be over.” said Danielle. Prilla looked a little confused but understood and nodded. So Danielle went over to the animal-talent table. “Beck, can I talk to you for a moment please?” asked Danielle. “Sure Danielle.” answered Beck. Danielle and Beck then left the Tea Room and went out into the hall. “Beck I need your help! I don’t know enough about being an animal-talent yet, I’m way over my head! Please can you help me!?” Danielle said in one big breathe. “Stars in the sky Danielle, calm down! What is it that you need so much help with?” asked Beck. “W-well… you see, there’s this little…” Danielle started. “Little what? Animal?” asked Beck. “Well, yes.” Danielle said, her wings shacking. “Okay, so what kind of animal is it? I’m sure it will be no trouble at all helping it.” said Beck. “W-well, you see that’s the thing, I’ve been trying to teach it for the past few days now, and you see I made a deal with this animal…” said Danielle, her wings shacking harder. “A deal? I know of every animal in Never Land and the only animal that would ever make a deal would be a hawk!” Beck said laughing. “Mmhmm…” Danielle murmured sinking her head low on her shoulders and nodding. “Ahaha, ahaha, uh. Y-your not joking are you?” asked Beck. Danielle shook her head no. Beck quickly fell quiet, this wasn’t funny at all anymore. “Danielle! Thundering thistles! What in Fairy Heaven were you thinking!?” yelled Beck. “His mother left him and said he wasn’t a real hawk at all! He’s afraid of heights and too scared to fly! And as an animal-talent I had to try and help. But the he said if I couldn’t teach him to fly, he was going to eat me! Beck I really need your help, please!” Danielle cried. But before Beck could answer, Prilla, Rani, Bess, Fira, Lily, Tink, Fawn, Silvermist and Queen Ree came out into the hall. “Is everything alright out here?” asked Queen Ree. Danielle had no idea what to say, neither did Beck. “E-everything’s fine Queen Ree. I was just asking Beck something. I’d fly backward if I could, we didn’t mean to be so loud.” Danielle said finally. After a few moments of quiet, everyone went back into the Tea Room to finish their meals. Danielle hardly ate that afternoon. But when lunch was over Danielle waited for Beck outside of the Tea Room. “Beck, please, I really need your help!” said Danielle when Beck came out. “Danielle, you never should have gotten yourself into this! I can’t help you, I’m sorry.” said Beck frowning and flying off. Danielle understood where Beck was coming from and didn’t complain about the answer Beck gave her. So, Danielle flu off back to the hawk, fully ready to tell the hawk it was no use anymore, and fully ready to be the hawks lunch.

Chapter 4: That’s It!

As Danielle got back to the hawks nest all she could think about was how much she was going to miss Prilla and Rani. But as she got to the nest, she saw that, there was nothing in it! She thought maybe the hawk had fell to the ground so she flu to the ground as fast as she could, but she didn’t find the hawk. She was very puzzled, till she looked up and saw, the hawk flying! The hawk noticed Danielle and flu down to her. “Thank you little fairy! You’ve taught me how to fly! And for all your Love, Heart and kindness I will keep my end of the deal and won’t eat you or any other fairy ever! You have given me Life little fairy and I can never thank you enough!” said the hawk. Danielle was so happy she wouldn’t be lunch or anyone else in Fairy Heaven! As Danielle was flying back to the Home Tree, it hit her! “Love? Life? Heart? Those are all parts of my talent! Wait a moment, I can spot when something’s rare, I can make my friends Laugh, I can’t stand seeing anyone in need without helping them, and I can bring Life into others! MY TALENT! THAT’S HOW I’M SUPPOSED TO USE IT! To help others! Thundering thistles I have to tell Prilla and Rani!” Danielle said out loud to herself. Danielle flu as fast as she could to find Prilla and Rani so she could tell them the good news. “I finally know what my talent is for!” thought Danielle flying home.

The New Comer

One sleepy night on the Mainland while everyone slept little Jeramy Williams had his first laugh! It burst out the window and started making its way to Never Land. It would take the laugh a while to get there of course. But back in Never Land Mother Dove in all her wisdom knew that a new little fairy was on its way! She told Beck an Animal-Talent fairy that it wouldn’t be long before they had a new arrival! Pixie Hollow quickly became a buzz with excitement, all through Fairy Heaven as fairies continued on with their daily lives they were sure to be on the look out for the laugh. Especially Prilla! Pilla was the only Mainland-visiting clapping-talent fairy in Never Land! She had high hopes that the new comer might be one as well. Prilla was trying to be very careful not to blink over to the Mainland and possibly miss the laugh. It was nearly dark but even after dinner Prilla went back out to watch for the laugh. A few minutes later Rani a Water-Talent fairy joined Prilla to keep her company for a while. It the sun was very low in the sky and it was getting very dark out. Prilla and Rani were getting tired. “You go ahead to the Home Tree and get some sleep. I’ll be along soon.” Prilla said. Rani nodded and started to the Home Tree. Prilla sighed a long heavy sigh “Oh I wish that laugh would hurry” She thought to herself. Then went to the Home Tree and up to her room where she fell fast asleep. The laugh was nearly to Never Land by the next morning. It bounced along happily, riding the breeze, making its way to Never Land. The morning sun peeked into Prilla’s room early the next day and quick as she possibly could, Prilla was up, dressed and back on the lookout for the laugh. “Oh laugh where are you?” Prilla said to herself out loud after a while of waiting. While waiting for the laugh to get there Prilla blinked over to the Mainland for a little while. After 3 more hours the laugh had finally made its way to Never Land! And Never Land was more then happy to except it in. Mother Dove knew right when Never Land had accepted the laugh in, she told Beck and word quickly spread. Prilla was still on the Mainland playing with clumsy children but she was snapped back to Pixie Hollow when she heard a familiar voice. It was Tinker Bell the best pots-and-pans fairy in Fairy Heaven. “The laughs finally here! Come on Prilla hurry!” Tink told her. “Has it landed yet!? Is it a fairy!? Did I miss everything!?” Prilla asked while her and Tink were flying. “Not yet. And no. That’s why we have to hurry!” said Tink. Tink and Prilla got to the big group of fairies gathering near the Home Tree waiting for the minute the laugh landed and turned into a new fairy! Prilla made her way to the front of the crowd. She didn’t want to miss anything! The laugh landed and there, near the Home Tree, was Danielle in her arrival garment. She had fawn brown shoulder length hair, with two small pieces of hair falling from the top and sweeping behind her ears. The newest arrival to Fairy Heaven! Terence a Dust-Talent sparrow man, had Danielle’s first daily dose of fairy dust. He sprinkled a level teacup of dust-not a smidgen more or smidgen less- over Danielle. And the minute the dust touched her, a tingly feeling spread over her, and her glow began. Danielle got to her feet and looked around at all the fairies. Prilla was a bit nervous but walked over to Danielle and said “Hello! I’m Prilla. What’s your name?”. Danielle smiled at Prilla and said “Danielle. Fly with you Prilla!”. All around you could hear all the fairies give a sigh of relief that this fairy, didn’t act like Prilla and talk like a clumsy. Prilla’s face looked a bit sad for a moment but quickly turned back into happiness. The next fairies to come up to Danielle were Rani and Tink. Rani was crying very hard, but she couldn’t help it, she was a Water-Talent fairy after all. Tink had a good feeling that this fairy was a real fairy and wouldn’t try her patience like Prilla had done when she first arrived. Tink said “So what’s your…?”

“Talent Danielle?” Rani finished for Tink. Danielle chuckled a little. Then quickly realized she had no idea! Danielle got quiet and a frown fell across her face as she looked down with embarrassment. Tink started pulling at her bangs with annoyances by Danielle not replying. Danielle knew what a talent was but she didn’t know what hers was! Prilla knew Tink was getting annoyed so she tried to change the topic. “I hope your trip here was good Danielle” said Prilla. But Tink didn’t want to change the topic so before Danielle could answer Tink said in a louder annoyed tone “What’s your talent Danielle!?”. Danielle jumped a little bit in surprise then said “I-I’m not really sure.” Prilla looked at Danielle with sympathy because she knew how it felt to not know your talent. Danielle knew two things for sure and they were: What a talent is and that she had one. But there were also two things Danielle didn’t know for sure and they were: what her talent was. And how she was going to find it. Just then Vidia who had been watching not far away flew up and said “Prilla darling, you better take care of this poor incomplete one. She’s like you were.” Danielle felt her heart sink and all she could think was “I’m incomplete?” “Vidia!” said Prilla, Rani and Tink all at once sticking up for Danielle. It wasn’t Danielle’s fault she didn’t know her talent yet. Prilla went over to Danielle to comfort her. She smiled at Danielle and said “Would you like to meet Mother Dove? I’d be happy to take you.” Danielle smiled at Prilla and nodded. As the two flew off Prilla explained about Vidia and showed Danielle everything all around Pixie Hollow. Danielle was happy Prilla was showing her around, Prilla seemed like she would make a wonderful friend! But Danielle couldn’t seem to forget the mean words Vidia had said. Danielle hoped Mother Dove knew what her talent was, and that she wasn’t ‘incomplete’ like Vidia had said. Prilla and Danielle finally reached Mother Dove’s nest and Danielle was so happy she couldn’t believe it! Mother Dove knew Prilla and Danielle were near of course. And Prilla loved seeing Mother Dove. “Hello Mother Dove! This is Danielle! She’s new! Just arrived!” said Prilla to Mother Dove. Prilla pulled on Danielle a little bit and they both flew down to Mother Dove’s nest. “Danielle, my what a pretty name.” Mother Dove cooed. Danielle smiled happy to know Mother Dove liked her. “My, my, you’ve got a very rare talent indeed!” said Mother Dove. Danielle was so happy to know that she did have a talent and that she wasn’t incomplete like Vidia had said. Prilla was happy too. Prilla turned a cartwheel in the air. When Prilla was done she asked “what is her talent Mother Dove!? Is she a Mainland-Visiting clapping-talent like me!?” Prilla hoped with all her heart that she was! Mother Dove looked at Prilla and then at Danielle. “She could be Prilla. But Danielle is a different kind of fairy, she has a very special talent.” cooed Mother Dove. Prilla was so hoping Danielle would be a Mainland-visiting clapping-talent like she was. Prilla let out a sigh of sadness. Danielle didn’t really understand why Prilla was sad now, Mother Dove had said she ‘might’ be. Danielle found her voice and spoke. “W-what is my talent Mother Dove?” said Danielle in an uneasy voice. Mother Dove crocked her head and looked at Danielle. “You will know soon enough.” Said Mother Dove. “What does that mean Mother Dove?” said Prilla in a calm wondering voice. “It means Prilla, that she has to find it for herself.” Mother Dove told Prilla. Danielle was a bit confused herself, well okay very confused! “Um, Mother Dove?” Danielle said in a small voice hoping Mother Dove wouldn’t hear her. But she did. “Yes Danielle?” cooed Mother Dove. It was to late now, Danielle had to think of something fast! “W-will I find my talent soon?” asked Danielle with a quiver in her voice. “I believe you will” said Mother Dove with a smile. Beck an Animal-Talent fairy who took care of Mother Dove, asked “Could she be an Animal-Talent Mother Dove?” Mother Dove looked at Danielle with a smile. “It’s possible Beck.” Said Mother Dove. Beck smiled at Danielle. “You wanna give it a try and see if you’re an animal-talent?” asked Beck. Danielle looked at Prilla who was frowning a bit of a sad frown at Beck. Danielle kind of hoped she wasn’t an animal-talent fairy, and that she had the same talent as Prilla so Prilla would be happy. But Danielle nodded at Beck just the same. Beck smiled even bigger. Beck called to one of her animal friends and flew down with Danielle following right behind. Beck stroked the animals head for a minute then turned to Danielle. “Do you feel anything Danielle?” asked Beck. Danielle smiled at the little animal. Danielle thought to for a moment thinking. “Hmm, I do like animals!” she thought realizing this. She looked up at Beck. “I do like animals!” Danielle announced to Beck. Beck flew up to Mother Dove as fast as she could. “She’s an animal-talent fairy Mother Dove!” Beck said happily. Danielle soon joined them again and looked at Prilla. Prilla’s head was down and she had the saddest face Danielle could have ever thought possible. Danielle was about to speak when Mother Dove cooed “I think there is more to her then that Beck.” Beck looked at Mother Dove with a strange face possibly saying “What do you mean Mother Dove? How can there be more to it?” Danielle looked at Prilla once again and to her surprise, Prilla was smiling! Danielle was happy that Prilla was smiling again. Then all of a sudden Danielle turned an air cartwheel. Prilla’s face lit up with joy! Mother Dove looked at Beck with a look possibly saying “See? There is much more to this fairy then there has ever been in Pixie Hollow!” Danielle’s tummy growled and moaned at her. Mother Dove looked at Danielle and Prilla then said “Prilla since it’s already past lunch why don’t you take Danielle to the kitchen at the Home Tree and see if Dulcie will make her something to eat?” Prilla was more than happy to. The two flew off waving to Mother Dove and Beck heading back to the Home Tree where Prilla took Danielle into the tearoom and then into the kitchen where they met Dulcie a Baking-Talent fairy. Danielle thought the kitchen smelled wonderful! She took a deep breathe to inhale all the wonderful smells. Dulcie waved to them. “Hello Dulcie, this is Danielle. She’s just arrived in Pixie Hollow!” said Prilla with a smile. “Fly with you Danielle! I’m Dulcie.” Dulcie smiled. Danielle smiled then said “Fly with you Dulcie! Everything smells so wonderful in here!” “Thank you.” Said Dulcie. “Danielle is very hungry Dulcie, do you think you could make her something to eat?” asked Prilla. “Of Course! We’re just now pulling some Blueberry muffins out of the oven.” Dulcie said happily. Dulcie took the tray of freshly made blueberry muffins over to Danielle and Prilla. Prilla picked one up and took a bite. Danielle did the same. “mmm-mmm!” said Danielle happily munching the first food she ever had. Daniellehad 7 blueberry muffins before she was full. Her and Prilla had some sparkling red Never Berry juice before thanking Dulcie and leaving. “I’m sorry to leave you Danielle, but I have to blink over to the Mainland for a little while.” Said Prilla. “Okay Prilla. Thank you so much for everything!” Danielle said to Prilla. “I think I’ll go out looking for my talent if it’s okay?” Danielle asked Prilla. “Sure it is! Have fun!” said Prilla before waving good-bye. After Prilla left Danielle started flying around hoping to find something else that interested her. She came to Heavendish Stream where she saw Rani the Water-Talent she had met when she first arrived. So Danielle flew down to see Rani making designs in the water. Rani smiled when she saw Danielle. “Hi Danielle!” said Rani. Danielle smiled too. “Hi.” Danielle replied. “Have you found your talent yet!?” asked Rani excitedly. “Maybe, I’m not quite sure. I might be an animal-talent fairy Beck says.” Said Danielle. “would you like to see if you’re a Water-Talent fairy?” asked Rani. “Oh yes please!” said Danielle excited. Rani put her hand into the Stream and pulled out a perfect ball of water. Danielle watched happily at how amazing it was. While Rani through the ball up and down in the air all the while Danielle couldn’t help thinking “Oh I hope I’m a Water-Talent.” Rani then caught the ball and held it out for Danielle to try and hold. Danielle was a little nervous but she took the water ball and to her and Rani’s surprise she was able to hold it just like Rani! “You’re a Water-Talent Danielle!” said Rani with excitement. “Only water-talents can hold water like this!” she continued. “A new water-talent! Oh I’m so excited!” “But, Beck said I was an animal-talent fairy?” Danielle said in confusion. But then Danielle remembered what Mother Dove had said “you’ve got a very rare talent indeed!” Danielle had no idea what Mother Dove had meant by that. “Hmm, maybe she meant I get to pick my talent and that it didn’t just come to me.” Danielle thought with a smile. “Well, maybe Beck made a mistake? Because you’re a water-talent for sure!” said Rani smiling. Just then a fairy spattered with paint Danielle hadn’t seen before flew over to Rani. “Hi Bess.” Said Rani to the paint spattered fairy. “Hi Rani. I need dewdrops if you have any extras?” said the paint spattered fairy. “Oh sure Bess!” Rani gave the fairy a nutshell full of dewdrops. “Here you are Bess.” Said Rani with a smile. “Oh Bess, this is Danielle. She’s just arrived in Pixie Hollow!” Rani told Bess. Bess was the most talented Art-Talent fairy in all of Fairy Heaven. “Fly with you Danielle.” Said Bess smiling. Danielle smiled too and said “Fly with you Bess.” “What’s your talent Danielle?” asked Bess. Danielle was starting to not like that question very much but she answered anyways. “I’m not quite sure yet, Beck says I’m an animal-talent fairy. But Rani says I’m a water-talent. It’s a little confusing.” Danielle admitted. “Hmm, well would you like to see if you’re an Art-Talent fairy?” asked Bess. Danielle smiled. “Sure! I’d love too!” said Danielle. “Okay. Let’s go then!” said Bess taking off into the air. “Fly with you later Rani. Thanks for showing me Water-Talenting.” Said Danielle trying to catch up with Bess. Bess took Danielle to her Art-studio and showed Danielle the painting she had been working on before she ran out of dewdrops for mixing paint. Danielle’s eyes got very big with amazement! Bess had painted the prettiest field of wild flowers Danielle could have ever imagined! “It’s the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen Bess!” said Danielle winded. Bess smiled proud of her Artwork. Then Bess gave Danielle a canvas, a paintbrush and some paint. “Here, make something pretty!” said Bess smiling. Danielle started to work painting. At first she wasn’t sure what to paint but then it came to her and she started painting a picture of Prilla, Rani, Beck and Bess doing their talents. She painted Prilla on the Mainland playing with clumsy children, Rani bouncing a ball of water, Beck with her animal friends and Bess painting. “My goodness this is fun!” thought Danielle. Danielle knew that she loved painting from then on. She put the paintbrush down and showed Bess what she had painted. Bess was amazed! She could hardly believe that Danielle had painted that, and on her first try too! “You’re an Art-Talent fairy Danielle! No doubt about it!” Bess said. Danielle was very confused by this time. “Beck says I’m an animal-talent fairy, Rani says I’m a water-talent fairy and now Bess says I’m an art-talent fairy? Oh how much more confusing could things get!?” thought Danielle. “Thanks Bess! I had a great time painting with you! But I think I’m going to go look around in Pixie Hollow some more, maybe try and find Prilla.” Said Danielle with a smile when she though of her friend Prilla. “Okay. Fly with you later!” said Bess. “Fly with you later” Danielle replied as she flew off. Danielle started flying all over the place looking at all the sites and hearing all the sound, hoping that while doing so she might find Prilla. A little while later Danielle spotted Prilla sitting up against a rock by some pretty blue flowers. Danielle flew down and hoped Prilla would come back to Pixie Hollow to see her. Danielle settled herself on the ground comfortably next to Prilla and waited. Prilla was with a clumsy girl at a flower patch in a park. Prilla had gotten stuck in one of the flowers and the clumsy girl was trying to pull her out. Danielle closed her eyes for a minute of rest, but before she knew it, she had blinked strait over to the mainland! She was in a clumsy candy store with a clumsy girl looking at all the yummy looking candy. But just then she shot over to somewhere else! She was in a flower patch in a park. She saw a clumsy girl sitting there and then, right there she saw Prilla! Prilla was stuck in a flower! Danielle knew she had to help her friend so she went over and started trying to help the clumsy girl pull Prilla out of the flower. And on the next pull Danielle and the clumsy girl had popped Prilla out of the flower and she was free. Prilla was shocked to see Danielle there that she got snapped back to Pixie Hollow! Prilla opened her eyes and so did Danielle they were both a little surprised. “How did you get to the Mainland!?” Prilla asked in shock. “I don’t know! I was looking for you here and then when I found you I saw that you must have been on the Mainland so I sat next to you, closed my eyes for a minute to rest and before I knew it, I was on the Mainland!” Danielle told Prilla. Prilla couldn’t have been more thrilled! She did 3 cartwheels and a somersault then hugged Danielle tightly! “Do you know what this mean!?” asked Prilla bursting with joy. “W-what?” Danielle asked a little scared of what the answer might be. “It means you’re a Mainland-visiting clapping-talent like me!” said Prilla in one big whoosh. Danielle couldn’t believe it! another talent someone thought she was? Danielle went over it in her head. “Beck says I’m an animal-talent, Rani says I’m a water-talent, Bess says I’m an art-talent and now Prilla says I’m a Mainland-visiting clapping-talent!? Goodness me! How could I possibly be good at that many things!?” Danielle wondered. Prilla and Danielle started flying back to the Home Tree for dinner and while they were flying, they ran into Fira a Light-Talent fairy. “Hi Prilla.” Said Fira. “Hi Fira.” Said Prilla. “This is Danielle! She’s just arrived in Pixie Hollow!” Prilla told Fira. Danielle awaited the question she really disliked. “Fly with you Danielle! I’m Fira.” “Fly with you Fira.” Replied Danielle. “What’s your talent Danielle?” asked Fira. And there it was, the question Danielle hated to answer! “I’m not quite sure yet. Beck says I’m an animal-talent, Rani says I’m a water-talent, Bess says I’m an art-talent and Prilla says I’m a Mainland-visiting clapping-talent.” Danielle said in one long breath. Prilla was shocked! She had no idea Danielle had tried out so many talents and that every fairy she tried them out with said it was her talent! Fira was a bit shocked herself. “Well, how would you like to try being a Light-Talent after dinner?” asked Fira. Danielle was sure she didn’t because if she did Fira might tell her that she was a light-talent! But Danielle said yes anyways and the three of them hurried to dinner. And as they left the tearoom after dinner Prilla and Danielle waved good-bye to each other once again as Danielle went with Fira to try being a light-talent fairy. Fira and Danielle hurried to get the last light of day so that they could light up the Fireflies. Fira grabbed some light from her leaf basket, through it up in the air and lit several fireflies. Next it was Danielle’s turn. Danielle hoped with all her heart that Fira wouldn’t tell her she was a light-talent fairy. Danielle closed her eyes, put her hand into the basket, closed her hand and through the light (if she had gotten any light) up into the air. She didn’t want to open her eyes just yet, until Fira let out a sigh of happiness. Danielle opened her eyes and saw that more fireflies had been lit! Fira looked at Danielle with a smile. “I knew it! I just knew it! You’re a light-talent fairy!” announced Fira. Danielle’s face dropped, she couldn’t believe it! Another talent someone says is hers? “Beck says I’m an animal-talent, Rani says I’m a water-talent, Bess says I’m an art-talent, Prilla says I’m a Mainland-visiting clapping-talent and now Fira says I’m a light-talent!? Oh I’m not sure how much more of this I can take!” Danielle thought to herself. After Fira’s lesson on being a light-talent, Danielle was finally able to go back to the Home Tree and find her room. Danielle flew up past the first, seconded, thread, fourth, fifth and sixth floor till she got to the seventh. She followed the sighs and finally made it to her room. She was very happy because it was right next to Prilla’s. Danielle was too tired to stop by and say hi to Prilla though so she went into her room and didn’t even bother looking around, she fell flat on her bed and was quickly asleep. The next morning Danielle woke up and looked around her room. The walls were light baby blue. The floor was mosey and very comfortable to walk on. Her bed posts were made out of thick hard daisy stalks and her bedding was made out of soft purple flower petals. “Oh! Everything is so pretty!” thought Danielle. Danielle then walked over to her closet and pulled out a few pretty outfits to try on. First she pulled out a Sea blue dress with tiny pearls and sea green shoes that went perfectly with it. Then there was a pink petal dress with a rose petal sash and pink petal shoes to on along with it. She also found a grass blade green top and skirt with a bit darker green leaf sash and shoes. She pulled out a bright yellow dress that sparkled like fairy dust and shoes that were just as sparkly. The last one she pulled out was an orange and brown wrap dress with leaf wrap boots. “Oh my! There all so pretty!” said Danielle thinking out loud. She decided to put on the plainest one in her closet. It was a blueberry blue knee length dress with a brown pouch for a sash and a pair of blueberry blue petal shoes. She then stepped out of her room and made her way down to the tearoom for breakfast. She spotted Prilla sitting at the water talent table with Rani. Danielle started to walk over when Bess graded her arm and told her to sit with her and the other art-talent fairies. Prilla looked over and saw Danielle was motioned for her to come over and sit with her and Rani. Danielle really wanted to but Bess was her friend too. Just then she saw Fira waving to her from the light-talent table. Beck also wanted Danielle to sit at the animal-talent table. Danielle couldn’t take it anymore. She flew right out of the tearoom and didn’t stop till she got to Mother Dove’s hawthorn tree. Danielle had tears in her eyes as she approached Mother Dove. “Oh! Danielle what’s the matter?” asked Mother Dove. “It’s so hard Mother Dove! I don’t understand! First Beck, then Rani, Bess, Prilla and Fira, they all think I have their talent! I don’t understand Mother Dove? How can I be good at all their talents!?” asked Danielle crying. “Oh sweet child, have no worry. I knew you might have a problem with your talent’s.” cooed Mother Dove lovingly. “Talents?” asked Danielle a bit surprised. “Yes dear child. You have more then one talent.” Cooed Mother Dove. Danielle was shocked! “Why hadn’t Mother Dove told me this before?” Danielle wondered. “So, I have all the talents I tried?” Danielle asked Mother Dove. “Yes. You have one more talent though child.” Said Mother Dove. Danielle couldn’t believe it! “So, what is my talent called?” Danielle asked in confusion. “You’re talent isn’t just one talent, it’s many. You’re an Animal-Talent, Water-Talent, Art-Talent, Mainland-visiting clapping-Talent, Light-Talent Garden-Talent and you also have a talent all your own, like Prilla.” Mother Dove cooed happily. Danielle couldn’t believe any of this! She was so shocked she could hardly speak. “B-but, h-how do I have so many talents!? And what’s my own talent!?” Danielle wondered with excitement. “You bring life and love to everything to touch. You have a big heart Danielle, but aren’t afraid to stand up for yourself and others.” Said Mother Dove continuing. “Along with your other talents, your one true talent is being a,

Love-Life-Laughter and Heart-Talent Fairy.” Mother Dove cooed lovingly. Danielle couldn’t move and she almost fell right out of the air! Danielle had a talent all her own, just like Prilla! Danielle hugged Mother Dove. “Thank you Mother Dove!” said Danielle flying as fast as she could to tell her friends. Danielle crashed right into Prilla who was flying just as fast as Danielle was. “Prilla! I have a talent all my own just like you!” said Danielle faster then she had ever said anything before. Prilla’s face was surprised. Danielle then remembered her other talents and made sure she told Prilla she was a Mainland-visiting clapping-talent too. Prilla’s face lit up and she hugged her friend lovingly with excitement. Danielle thought she might be the happiest fairy in all of Fairy Heaven.
